The African Food Bank & Welfare Project
18 Jan, 2025

In the heart of Edinburgh, a movement of compassion and solidarity is bringing relief to many—thanks to the African Food Bank Project, an initiative by Norinemindeyes Culture Connect and Uwagboes Foundation.

Every Wednesday from 1 PM – 3 PM, at Uwagboes Kitchen and Grill, volunteers gather with one mission—to feed and uplift those in need. Shelves stocked with African food essentials like plantain, fufu, vegetables, canned goods, and spices bring comfort to families longing for a taste of home.

This project is more than just food distribution; it is a beacon of hope for the African and wider community, ensuring that no one goes hungry. With support from partners like Tesco, FareShare, Abbas African Store, and other generous donors, the initiative continues to grow, providing nourishment and fostering a spirit of unity.

Through kindness, connection, and community action, the African Food Bank Project transforms lives—one meal at a time.
